On 1 October, in Rome, Annachiara Annino, in her capacity as Delegate of Assolombarda's Life Sciences Sector, brought the business perspective on prevention and active longevity to the national roundtable promoted by Haleon and Task Force Italia
A challenge that concerns the whole country
Italy is going through a demographic and health transformation of historic proportions: life expectancy is rising, the burden of chronic diseases is growing, and inequalities in access to services persist, in a context that calls for an integrated approach able to support people throughout all stages of life. The challenge is to move from a model focused mainly on treatment to one that invests more in prevention, wellbeing and quality of life in later years.
A high-level roundtable for a systemic challenge
Against this backdrop, on 1 October at Piazza Montecitorio, the roundtable "Self-care, Active Aging and new paradigms of health, wellbeing and inclusion" was held as part of the national Prevention, Health, Welfare day. The meeting was attended by representatives of businesses and associations - including Federchimica Assosalute, Cittadinanzattiva APS, Federfarma and HappyAgeing - together with members of Parliament and of the Lombardy Region.
It was Annachiara Annino, Partner and Head of the Lattanzio KIBS Research Center, who brought the business perspective on health, active longevity and digital inclusion, speaking in her capacity as Delegate of Assolombarda's Life Sciences Sector. In her address, she recalled that investing in people's wellbeing is not merely welfare but a strategic choice: a healthy organisation is one able to rethink the way of working for people, at every age - regarding prevention, as also reaffirmed by Assolombarda's President Nicoletta Luppi, not as a cost but as an investment.
Lattanzio KIBS's commitment to longevity
Longevity is a theme Lattanzio KIBS has long been working on through its Research Center and the Longevity Economy HUB, the ecosystem that brings together public, private and academic players to turn demographic change into a lever for innovation and intergenerational prosperity.
